Being initially drawn by the shadows of trees that she saw on grass, she did a lot of studying a method that does not present the object as a two-dimensional image on canvas. When the objects are alive or a thing that can be eaten, like fruits and people that they transform into a picture of their own. Alexa's painting style is ephemeral, the only thing that remains of Alexa Meade's art is her photographs. The painting and photography techniques are tightly coordinated, resulting in a flat, two-dimensional space which achieves trompe-l'oeil. The only parts of the image, like the hair or eyes, reveal the third dimension. At times, Meade integrates her painted models into the 3D environment around them, which allows them to engage with this self-created world. This way, the line between photography and painting is dissolved.
